Coach Repesa’s team finished on third place, in the competition held at the PalaSassi in Matera. Petrucelli and Totè were unavailable for the Azzurri and did not travel with the team, remaining in Naples as a precaution to rest. Jeff Dowtin also did not play, having been rested as a precaution after taking a knock during the semi-final against Varese.
Napoli Basketball’s top scorer was Jakimovski with 24 points. Ramsey, White, Spissu e Sankarè also finished in double figures.
