Guerri Napoli announces the signing of John Petrucelli on a two years contract.
Petrucelli, born in Hicksville, USA, on October 27, 1992, is a 193 centimeter guard/forward, and a naturalized Italian. After starting his career in Slovakia with Iskra Svit, the new Napoli’s player, played for three seasons in the G-League, first with the Erie BayHakws, later renamed the Osceola Magic, finishing the 2018-2019 season with an average of 12.1 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.
In 2019-2020, Petrucelli played in Israel with Hapoel Beer Sheva, averaging 13 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. The following season, he moved to Germany with Ratiopharm Ulm, where he also played in the EuroCup, averaging 7.5 points per game and 2.2 rebounds. In 2021-22, the Italian-American began his career in the Italian top division with Germani Brescia. He played three outstanding seasons in Lombardia, winning two consecutive awards as best defender of the entire tournament, and being a key player in Brescia's historic Coppa Italia victory. In 2022-23, Petrucelli averaged 15 points per season, shooting over 50.6% from 3-point range, gaining further EuroCup experience.
After his brilliant seasons with Germani, John Petrucelli moved to Trapani where, witch Coach Jasmin Repesa, he was among the Sicilian team's best players, reaching the Scudetto semifinals and qualifying for the Champions League. In the 2024-2025 season, Petrucelli averaged 8.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals. Last season, after Trapani was excluded from the league, Petrucelli played for Galatasaray, in the Turkish top league and in the Champions League, averaging 5 points.
The excellent performances of the new Guerri player earned him a call-up to the Italian national team. Petrucelli played for the Azzurri in the World Cup and European Championship qualifiers, and in the 2024 Paris Olympic Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
