Guerri Napoli announces the signing of athlete Assane Sankare to a multi-year contract. Born in Senegal on April 10, 2007, and holding Italian citizenship, Sankare is a 204-centimeter forward who combines great athleticism with excellent ball-handling skills and a solid long-range shot.
A product of Ferrara’s youth academy—where he played through all the junior teams and made his first-team debut in the Serie B Interregionale—he was a strong performer in the 2023-2024 Euroleague Adidas Next Generation Tournament (a prestigious international competition), averaging 14.8 points and 11 rebounds per game, alongside 1.5 blocks. In the 2024-2025 season, he moved to Rimini (Serie A2), playing for Basket Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna in the Under-19 championship and averaging over 22 points per game.
Last Season, Sankare played a key role in Rinascita Basket Rimini’s successful league; he finished the regular season averaging 4 points and 4.1 rebounds for game, then stepped up in the playoffs with averages of 9.4 points and 7.8 rebounds, with a key role in his team reaching the promotion finals. During the postseason, he set a new career-high in scoring with 27 points in an away game against Pesaro and later grabbed a personal-best 15 rebounds—recording a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds—during the Game 1 semifinal victory over Cividale.
