In June 2020, he became the new coach of Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro, with a three-year contract. He managed to bring Pesaro back to the Final Eight of the Coppa Italia after a nine-year absence, reaching the final of the competition. The following May, he exercised his right to opt out of his contract and was announced as Head Coach of Fortitudo Bologna, where he had previously coached, but decided to leave after just one regular-season match.
On June 22, 2022, he announced his return to Pesaro as head coach, with a three-year contract. The following summer, after finishing eighth in the regular season and being eliminated in the playoff quarterfinals by Milan, his relationship with Pesaro ended, and in July 2023, he took on the role of Sporting Director of the Croatian national team. Finally, in July 2024, he became Head Coach of Trapani, a newly promoted team to Serie A, finishing the season in second place in the regular season and losing in the playoff semifinals to Brescia. Following the vicissitudes of the Sicilian club, he resigned as head coach of Trapani in December 2025.
