NAPOLI BASKETBALL HEADING TO FRANCE FOR FRIENDLY AGAINST JL BOURG-EN-BRESSE

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 20, at 8:00 PM in La Balme de Sillingy, Napoli Basketball will take the floor for a preseason friendly against JL Bourg-en-Bresse, a team competing in France’s Pro A League and the upcoming EuroCup.

This will be the fourth preseason game for Coach Alessandro Magro’s squad, following wins over Avellino Basket, Libertas Livorno, and Tezenis Verona. The Azzurri’s only loss so far came against Partizan Belgrade. Joining the team on this trip is new point guard Naz Mitrou-Long, who will make his first appearance for Napoli ahead of his official press introduction next week. Before the Serie A season opener on October 6 on the road against reigning Italian champions Virtus Bologna, Napoli will also play one final tune-up in Spain against Girona on Friday, September 26, at 8:30 PM.

Head Coach Alessandro Magro on the matchup:

“We’ve just wrapped up another important week of practice, especially since we now have our full roster with the arrival of Naz Mitrou-Long. With him, we’ve already had two full team sessions. Now we head into a tough test in France against a team competing in the EuroCup. The level of difficulty and physicality is going up, and that’s exactly what we need to prepare for the start of the season. For me and my staff, it will be important to see how the team responds when faced with this kind of challenge. We’ve taken steps forward this week, trying out new situations, and traveling together will help us build chemistry as quickly as possible. I’m very curious to see how our new addition fits in and what we can accomplish between now and opening night on October 6.”
