This afternoon, at the headquarters of Generazione Vincente S.p.A., Napoli Basket officially presented new signing Naz Mitrou-Long. In attendance were Generazione Vincente CEO Dr. Alfredo Amoroso, Napoli Basket General Manager James Laughlin, and Mitrou-Long himself. Generazione Vincente will continue its role as Main Sponsor of Napoli Basket for the upcoming season.
Naz Mitrou-Long’s statement:
“Thank you all for being here. I’m really excited to play again under Coach Alessandro Magro and to compete in Serie A. My family and I are thrilled to be back in Italy—especially in Naples—and I can’t wait to get started. Naples is an incredible city with fans who are as passionate about basketball as I am. I’ve spoken with friends who have already played here, like Kevin Pangos and Ennis, and they had great things to say. That makes me even more enthusiastic about this project. I want to bring leadership, charisma, and discipline to the team—but above all, I want to bring my true self. I know Coach Magro very well and I understand his system. We’ve had success together before, and I trust him completely. When I play, I play to win. I’ve had success in the past, but every season brings a new challenge. My focus is simple: get back on the court, play hard, and win. Serie A is full of tough, competitive teams like Milan, Bologna, Trieste, Tortona, and many more. We need to perform at our best and fight to win as many games as possible.”
Generazione Vincente CEO Dr. Alfredo Amoroso’s statement:
“It’s a pleasure to host this press conference here at the Generazione Vincente headquarters. I’d like to thank President Matt Rizzetta, represented today by James Laughlin, because together we decided to hold this presentation in this office—an office where basketball has been discussed so often, where we dreamed about the journey we’ve been building, and where many ideas were born that later became reality. Generazione Vincente was already a sponsor of Napoli Basket before becoming a shareholder, so there’s always been a strong commitment to supporting this team. This new project is ambitious, and we were immediately convinced to continue the journey. Our bond with sports and with the city comes from something my father often repeated: we must give back to the community we belong to. That’s a principle we are proud to honor and will continue to follow. Generazione Vincente is a company that sees work as both a social and entrepreneurial mission. With over 30 branches across Italy and more than 5,000 employees, our goal is to support people in their careers—something that closely connects with the values of sports. This office is also where the ‘Club dei 100’ was created, bringing together local companies and Napoli Basket supporters. For years, it has been a place to exchange ideas and build partnerships. I am especially grateful to President Rizzetta for dedicating the ‘Club dei 100’ this year to my father, Michele Amoroso—a recognition that makes us extremely proud.”
General Manager James Laughlin’s statement:
“Thank you all for being here, and thank you to Naz. He’s already played in Serie A and knows how competitive this league is, which makes him a perfect fit for our team. Naz doesn’t need to change anything from the way he’s played before. He’s a player who can shoot, pass, and read the game like very few others. He just needs to keep being himself. We believe in the roster we’ve built, and we’re confident in our project. What matters now is that we all work together to build something special. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but our target is clear: the Playoffs. Naz is happy to be here, and we have full trust in Coach Magro. From here, it’s about taking things one step at a time—day by day.”
