The sixth round of the Serie A championship sees Napoli Basketball faces Umana Reyer Venezia tomorrow.
The game will be played at the Alcott Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 noon.
Following a long and successful road trip, which saw the Azzurri secure win in Tortona and Klaipeda in the fifth day of the EuroCup, Napoli now face a tough challenge against Reyer Venezia, a team that has been a major force in Italian and European basketball for several years.
Coached by Spahija, last season’s Italian Championship runners-up, Venezia are currently among the teams sitting fourth in the standings, with 6 points from 3 wins and 2 losses. They are coming off a home defeat against Treviso in the previous round, after overtime. Venezia also played in the EuroCup during the week, narrowly losing away to Tenerife.
Jasmin Repesa’s team will be playing their third consecutive league game at 12:00 noon, following their home game against Milan and their away fixture in Tortona.
There will be several familiar faces on both sides. Napoli centre Leonardo Totè came through Reyer Venezia’s youth academy, while Jordan Parks, a key figure in Napoli Basket’s promotion to Serie A, Erik Green, in Napoli in the season 2024-2025, and Giovanni De Nicolao, captain during the club’s historic Italian Cup triumph in the 2023–2024 season, now play for Venezia. Giga Janelidze also wore the Napoli jersey during the 2019–2020 season, which was subsequently interrupted due to the Covid pandemic.
The game will be officiated by Edoardo Gonella, Andrea Valzani and Gian Lorenzo Miniati.
James Laughlin, General Manager Napoli Basketball:
“This part of the season is demanding for every team in this league. Clubs across Serie A are managing fatigue and injuries, and we are no different. The FIBA break is close, and we'll use it to recover and get healthy but it isn't here yet.
Sunday we host Venezia. They played in the Finals last season and have been one of the most consistent clubs in Italy for years. Napoli has won just once in the last eleven meetings between our clubs. That record reflects the quality of their organization, and it's a reminder of what this game represents.
We have a new group, and this game is part of understanding the standard we're chasing. Games like this aren't decided by talent or energy alone, especially at this point in the season. They're decided by focus, execution, and the willingness to compete on every possession, even when we're tired. That's what we expect from ourselves on Sunday.”
Tickets are still available for the game, both through the Vivaticket platform and at the box office, which will open tomorrow at 10:30 am. The gates of the Alcott Arena will also open at 10:30 am. The game will be streamed live on the LBA TV platform. Live updates will also be available on Napoli Basketball’s social media channels. Please note that fans in the USA and Canada will be able to watch all of Napoli Basketball’s Serie A games exclusively on the YouTube channel "Napoli Basketball TV".
