Naples basketball is set to take major role in Europe once again, during the year in which Naples has been named European Capital of Sport and as the city looks to hosting the America's Cup 2027. This marks a shared trip supported by the Municipality of Naples, with a long-term vision for the growth of basketball across the city.
On Monday, August 3, at 12:00 p.m., the City Hall Executive Meeting Room at Palazzo San Giacomo will host the presentation of Napoli Basket's new season. The club will compete in the Italian league and, after a 20-year absence, will return to European competition by taking part in the EuroCup.
Speakers at the press conference will include: Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples; Emanuela Ferrante, Councillor for Sport and Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Naples; Matt Rizzetta, President of Napoli Basket; Francesco Cavaliere, Sporting Director of Napoli Basket; Sara Bocchetti, General Manager of the newly established Napoli Women Basketball, which will compete in the upcoming Italian Women's Serie A2 championship.
During the press conference, the club will also reveal additional strategic initiatives it plans to launch in the immediate future.
