PALLACANESTRO BRESCIA – GUERRI NAPOLI, MAGRO: “CARUSO IS THE TEAM’S NEW CAPTAIN”

Guerri Napoli faces Germani Brescia for the second straight away match tomorrow in the twenty-fifth round of the Serie A championship. The match will be played at the PalaLeonessa A2A in Brescia, starting at 6:15 PM.

Guerri, after a comeback defeat to Vanoli Cremona in the last round, faces a tough match against one of the league's top teams. Germani, a league finalist last season, is second in the standings with 34 points, just two points behind first-place Virtus Bologna. Brescia, after winning away against Cremona and Trento, is coming off a defeat in their last home game against Reggio Emilia. Sahin, Bettini, and Cassina will referee the match. In the first leg played at Alcott Arena on November 16th, Germani won 85-72. Alessandro Magro and Naz Mitrou-Long are the ex in the match. Coach Magro coached Brescia for three seasons from 2021 to 2024, winning the Coppa Italia in 2023 and being named the best coach in Serie A in the 2021-22 season. Mitrou-Long was a key player for Brescia in the 2021-22 season.

Nella gara d’andata disputata all’Alcott Arena lo scorso 16 novembre, vittoria della Germani Brescia per 85-72.

Kaspar Treier will not play. The player underwent extensive tests that revealed a meniscal tear in his right knee. Treier will undergo surgery in the coming days.

Coach Alessandro Magro

"This is our second consecutive away game. We'll be playing against Brescia, a team that needs no introduction. They're second in the standings and coming off two consecutive home losses, and they'll be eager to return to winning ways in front of their home crowd. They're a team with a clear hierarchy, precise rotations, and players who are having an MVP-caliber season. We'll need a game of great concentration and energy to limit their most dangerous players, knowing it will be a game where we'll have to perform in attack. We'll need to spread our effort over 40 minutes, something we didn't do in Cremona. There were some changes this week. We wish the best to Treier, who will undergo knee surgery, and we thank Gentile, who has expressed his desire to continue playing for a team aiming to win the Serie A2 championship. The new captain will be Caruso, and it will be a great satisfaction for him to be the captain of his hometown team. We want to do well and compete to win. We want to demonstrate what we can do, even against a strong team like Brescia. It will be an important test to evaluate the progress of our weekly work."

The match will be available to watch live on Sky Sport Basket and streamed on the LBA TV platform. Live updates will also be available on Guerri Napoli's social media pages.
