REYER VENEZIA – GUERRI NAPOLI, MAGRO: “THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME TO TAKE ON THIS GAME”

MONDAY THE 22ND AT MASCHIO ANGIOINO, THE “SPECIAL EDITION” JERSEY CELEBRATING NAPLES’ 2,500TH ANNIVERSARY

Next Monday, December 22 at 3:00 PM, in the “Sala della Loggia” at Castel Nuovo – Maschio Angioino, the new Guerri Napoli “Special Edition” celebratory jersey will be officially unveiled to the press, in honor of the 2,500th anniversary of the city of Naples.

Speakers at the event will include: Emanuela Ferrante, Naples City Councillor for Sport; Flavia Matrisciano, Executive Director of the Santobono–Pausilipon Onlus Foundation; Gennaro Cozzolino, Marketing Director of Givova; and Fausto Della Villa, Creative Director of Sport Media House. Representing Guerri Napoli will be Head Coach Alessandro Magro, General Manager James Laughlin, Sporting Director Alessandro Di Fede, and Savion Flagg, ambassador of the “Special Edition” celebratory jersey.

Meanwhile, Guerri Napoli returns to the road to face Reyer Venezia tomorrow in the 12th round of the first half of the regular season. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM at the Taliercio Sports Arena.

Coach Magro’s team comes off a home victory at the Alcott Arena against Vanoli Cremona, their fifth win of the season, which brings them to 10 points and eighth place in the standings. Reyer Venezia, currently third with 16 points, saw their six-game winning streak snapped last Sunday with a road loss to Dolomiti Energia Trentino. The Venetian team, which features former Napoli captain Giovanni De Nicolao, is coming off a midweek EuroCup win over Bahcesehir Istanbul, 94–85. In EuroCup group play, Reyer Venezia holds a 5–6 record. The game officials will be Borgioni, Valleriani, and Catani.

Coach Magro:
“We’re heading into a very challenging road game in Venice after a strong performance against Cremona that gave us confidence and allowed us to work with intensity and quality. We’ll be facing one of the best teams in the league in terms of talent and roster depth, with many players capable of making a difference. They have the best offense in the league and are unbeaten at home. We’ll need to raise our level of focus and defensive consistency, trying to slow down their pace. We must impose our identity, move the ball well to create shots for our shooters and force their defense to rotate. Playing on the road is never easy, but I believe this is the right moment to face an opponent of this caliber and build continuity with what we’ve been doing so far. There’s great motivation to hold onto the eighth place we’ve earned as we approach this final stretch. Over the next month, we’ll be fighting for our chance to reach the Final Eight.”

The game between Reyer Venezia and Guerri Napoli will be broadcast live on the LBA TV platform and on Sky Sport Basket (Sky channel 205). Live updates will also be available on Guerri Napoli’s official social media channels. Fans are reminded that the entire Serie A season of Napoli will be available exclusively in the USA and Canada on the YouTube channel “Napoli Basketball TV.”
