THE UNDER-19 TEAM KICKS OFF THE SECOND PHASE OF THE 2025/26 IBSA NEXT GEN CUP

The second phase of the IBSA Next Gen Cup will tip off today, Monday, January 5, in Rimini and Santarcangelo di Romagna. The tournament is reserved for the Under-19 teams of the 16 clubs competing in the Serie A1 championship.

The 16 participating teams have been divided into two qualifying groups and will take the court from Monday, January 5 through Thursday, January 8. The first phase of the tournament was held last November in Verona. Organized by Lega Basket Serie A, the event aims to enhance and promote the youth development programs of Italy’s top-division clubs, helping to shape the champions of tomorrow.

Guerri Napoli Basket have been placed in Group A alongside: Apu Udine, Allianz Derthona Tortona, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Trapani Shark, Vanoli Basket Cremona, Pallacanestro Varese, and UnaHotels Reggio Emilia. Coached by Emanuele Fiore, Guerri Napoli recorded two wins in the first phase—against Reggio Emilia and Trapani—while suffering one loss to Varese.

All games from this second stage, as well as the entire IBSA Next Gen Cup 2025/26, will be available live and on demand on LBATV in freemium mode (free access upon registration on the platform). The top four teams from each group will advance to the Final Phase, which will be held in Turin in a single-elimination format during the Frecciarossa Final Eight. The quarterfinals will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at PalaSermig, while the semifinals and final are scheduled for Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Inalpi Arena.
