S.S. Napoli Basket SRL announces that the Women’s Basketball League has communicated that, following today’s resolution by the FIP Federal Council, the new team Napoli Women Basketball has been admitted to participate in the upcoming Women’s Serie A2 Basketball Championship. The newly established club will announce its organizational structure, technical staff, and player roster for the Serie A2 championship in the coming days.
Top-level women’s basketball thus returns to the city. After triumphs on both the national and European stage, Naples once again has a women’s basketball team, with the goal of continuing to broaden its horizons and taking the first steps toward building a Neapolitan multi-sport club. Napoli Women Basketball will represent the city in a growing sector—the women’s game—that continues to attract an ever-increasing number of fans. The Alcott Arena will therefore become a hub to experience basketball in all its forms, from men’s to women’s basketball, with strong attention to the youth sectors.
