GUERRI NAPOLI DOUBLES: MARCO SPISSU ARRIVES

Guerri Napoli Basket announces that it has reached a two-year agreement with Marco Spissu Spissu, born in Sassari on February 5, 1995, is a 185-centimeter point guard with big experience at the highest levels, both nationally and Europeanly.

A product of the Dinamo Sassari youth academy, where he made his Serie A1 debut in 2012-2013, Spissu played in Bari, Piacenza, Reggio Calabria, and Tortona in his early career. In 2016-2017, in Serie A2, he played for Virtus Bologna, averaging 11.7 points and 3.1 assists per game.

In 2017, Spissu returned to Sassari, playing four consecutive seasons in Sardinia, also making his European debut in both the FIBA Cup and the Champions League. He had his best season in 2020-21, averaging 13.2 points and 5.4 assists, shooting 45% from 3-point, and was also a key player in the playoffs, where he once again finished in double figures. With Dinamo, in 2019, he won both the Italian Super Cup and the FIBA Europe Cup. 

In 2021-22, the point guard played in Russia, with Unics Kazan, a Euroleague contender, before returning to LBA with Venezia, having two strong seasons, finishing 2022-23 with an average of 10.2 points and 5.4 assists, and a 49.2 point-scoring percentage from 3-point, also scoring in double figures in the postseason. Spissu also played the Eurocup with Reyer. In the last two years, Spissu moved to the ACB, Spain's top league, with Zaragoza. In the final match of the season, he scored the decisive shot that allowed the Spanish team to stay in the league.

His excellent performances in the league also earned him a call-up to the national team. After progressing through the youth teams, Spissu played for Italian National Team at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the subsequent World Cup and, twice, the European Championships.
