The LBA Assembly, which met today via videoconference, reviewed and unanimously approved a groundbreaking new direction: starting next season, the league will take full control of its audiovisual rights and launch a brand-new subscription-based OTT platform — LBATV.
The platform will broadcast every Serie A game, as well as all major league events — including the Supercoppa and Coppa Italia Final Eight — plus exclusive editorial content and original features. LBATV will be accessible via app, smart TVs, and other major distribution platforms. The project is being developed in partnership with Deltatre, a global leader in sports streaming, digital solutions, data, and broadcast graphics. LBA and Deltatre have signed a five-year partnership to bring the platform to life. In the coming days, full details — including launch dates and subscription prices — will be released, along with all the ways fans will be able to access LBA content. Meanwhile, LBA and Deltatre will collaborate on marketing campaigns to grow the fanbase and elevate Italian basketball at the highest level.
Matt Rizzetta, President of Napoli Basket, commented:
“The unanimous decision by all Serie A clubs to create the new LBATV platform is a major step forward. I’m confident that in the short term, we’ll begin to see the results and momentum we’ve all been hoping for. This kind of digital innovation will dramatically improve access to our sport — especially among younger fans.”
